Results of the Recent SVU Referendum

Results of the ballot on the change of bylaws on the limits of term of the SVU President and Presidents of Local Chapters:
A mail ballot was conducted based on resolution of the General Assembly of SVU held on September 12, 2008 in Ruzomberok, Slovakia.

The term of office of the Presidents should be limited to 3 (three) consecutive two-year terms.
For (yes): 74
Against (no): 16
Abstentions: 5
Total ballots returned as of 4/23/09: 95

The main purpose of the approved referendum was to rejuvenate the aging SVU leadership. The SVU Board hopes that the elections to fulfill this mandate will be conducted in a democratic and transparent process.
