SVU President Lectures on Czech America

Rechcigl, President of the Czechoslovak Society of Arts and Sciences (SVU), an authority
on the history of Czech and Slovak history and ardent amateur genealogist will give three
lectures during his trip to the Midwest in September 2002, and another lecture in
Maryland.
On September 22 he will talk at the Czech Language Foundation annual dinner in Lincoln on
the subject "President Bush Has Czech Roots. Guess Who Else? A
Journey through Four Centuries Plus of Czech and Slovak Immigration to the US".
On September 23 he will address Komensky Club/SVU NE Chapter in Lincoln, NE on
"Bohemian and Moravian Pioneers in Colonial America"
On September 29 he was invited to give a lecture at the Czech National and Slovak Museum
in Cedar Rapids, IA. for their Life Long Learning series. The title of his talk will be:
"American Czechs Who Made the Difference: From Colonial Pioneers to Noble Prize
Laureates"
On November 18 he will speak in Rockville, MD before the Montgomery Genealogy Society. The
theme of his talk will be "Czech Immigration to the US with the
Focus on Maryland".
