ELECTRONIC VOTE IS INTRODUCED IN 2018
Following the recurrent requests from our membership and the motions of the SVU General Assembly Meetings of July 4, 2014 and September 4, 2016, the Membership Referendum of December 20, 2016 decided on Bylaws amendment allowing electronic vote by Art. 17-6, effective as of February 18, 2017.
On September 16, 2017, the retiring Executive Board appointed a Management Committee as per Art. 14-1 with the task to ensure legal compliance and cost efficiency of the 2018 Election.
Based on references from reputable nonprofit organizations, the Committee has selected a professional election provider:
Survey & Ballot Systems (SBS) who has been setting the standard in election management since 1990.
2018 ELECTION SCHEDULE
May 31, 2018: Notice of the 2018 Election and Notice of the 2018 General Assembly Meeting are sent to Members in Good Standing, both electronically and by first-class mail.
May 31, 2018: Members in Good Standing receive from SBS the invitation to vote online, with credentials to access the online ballot.
June 14, 2018: Closing of the Electronic Vote at 11:59 PM EDT.
June 15, 2018: SBS distributes paper ballot to pertinent voters (who didn’t vote online).
July 12, 2018: Tabulated result announcement.
