Your Society belongs to the most influential intellectual, political and ethical organizations of Czechs and Slovaks in the United States and in the world, I admire the relentlessness of your of your activities and the depth of your interest in developing of Czech and Slovak scientific and intellectual awareness.

The theme of your congress "The Transformation of Czech and Slovak Societies on the Threshold of the New Millennium and their Role in the Present Global
World" mirrors the crucial questions need to be answered by both our nations. I am sure that your congress will address them.
