Due to the situation related to the Covid -19 pandemic, the 9th edition of the Czech That Film festival will be taking place on-line! Each week, starting Monday, April 27, we will make one film from our program’s selection available at this website.
The week of Monday, April 27 until Sunday, May 3, 2020 we will be showing Old-Timers (StaÅ™Ãci), winner of 2019 Czech Film Critics’ Awards for Best Film, Best Actor (Jiřà Schmitzer), and Best Director. This drama based on true events is about two former political prisoners seeking revenge for injustices done to them during the 1950s. Our festival’s team prepared a Q&A session with directors Martin DuÅ¡ek and OndÅ™ej ProvaznÃk that you can watch in video here.
We hope you will enjoy the Czech cinematic gems we are offering this year, and that our program will make the Corona closure more bearable for you. Stay tuned for more movies to be added!
